From the Taj Mahal to Jaipur | Du Taj Mahal à Jaipur

At 5:45 AM, we were in line to see the Taj Mahal at sunrise. Alongside many others who braved the rain, we waited patiently—and it was absolutely worth it. Words cannot truly capture the beauty of this wonder of the world.
We spent time touring both the outside and inside before heading back to our hotel, where we admired the view once more from the rooftop as we enjoyed breakfast. While watching the monkeys playing, things suddenly got real when one appeared on the ledge near our table. We both grabbed our cameras, but before we could take a picture, the monkey jumped onto our table, grabbed some trash, and startled us both—sadly, no pictures to prove it!
Later, our driver arrived to take us to Jaipur. He couldn’t have been more than 21 years old, but he drove like a scene straight out of Fast and Furious: India Edition. We spent most of the four-hour journey with our eyes closed and were beyond relieved to arrive safely at our guesthouse in Jaipur.
After checking in, we went straight to Hawa Mahal, the main attraction of the Pink City. Also known as the "Palace of Winds," this stunning building was built for the royal women to observe the bustling streets without being seen. We enjoyed an incredible view of it from the rooftop restaurant across the street.
Another early morning awaits us as we head to our final destination—Goa.

À 5h45, nous étions déjà dans la file d’attente pour voir le Taj Mahal au lever du soleil. Nous avons attendu patiemment, sous la pluie, avec de nombreux autres visiteurs, et l’attente en valait largement la peine. Les mots ne suffisent pas à décrire la beauté de cette merveille du monde. Après avoir exploré l’extérieur et l’intérieur du monument, nous sommes retournés sur le toit de notre hôtel pour le contempler encore une fois pendant notre petit-déjeuner.
Nous étions fascinés par les nombreux singes autour de nous, jusqu’à ce que la situation prenne une tournure inattendue. Un singe est soudainement apparu sur le rebord près de notre table. Nous avons voulu prendre une photo, mais avant que nous puissions réagir, il a bondi sur notre table pour attraper un morceau de déchet ! Surpris, nous n’avons malheureusement pas réussi à capturer l’instant, mais cette rencontre restera gravée dans nos mémoires.
Notre chauffeur est ensuite arrivé pour nous emmener à Jaipur. Il n’avait sûrement pas plus de 21 ans, mais il conduisait comme dans un remake de Fast and Furious, version indienne. Pendant une bonne partie des quatre heures de trajet, nous avons préféré fermer les yeux ! Autant dire que nous étions soulagés d’arriver sains et saufs à notre maison d’hôtes.
Après notre installation, nous sommes allés directement voir Hawa Mahal, le palais des vents, une incroyable façade en grès rose percée de centaines de petites fenêtres permettant à la brise de circuler à l’intérieur. Nous avons eu une vue magnifique depuis le restaurant sur le toit d’en face.
​Demain, un réveil matinal nous attend pour rejoindre notre dernière destination : Goa.
