Into the Himalayas | Cap sur l’Himalaya

Today, we left Punjab for Himachal Pradesh. We were very excited to see the Himalayas as we made the journey up the mountain to McLeod Ganj. We have a very rustic room above a small yoga center, about 5km higher up in the mountains. We reached an altitude of over 2,000 meters, which was quite a challenge for me as I battled a head cold.
The temperature dropped significantly in the mountains, but we came prepared with warm clothes, mittens, and hats. Our hosts were incredibly kind and made a cozy fire for us outside. Our room has no heating, but they provided us with a hot water bottle to keep us warm through the night.
Tomorrow, we will travel back down to McLeod Ganj and explore the little town, which is now home to the Dalai Lama.

Aujourd'hui, nous avons quitté le Punjab pour l'Himachal Pradesh. Nous étions très impatients de voir l'Himalaya en empruntant la route qui monte vers McLeod Ganj. Nous avons une chambre rustique au-dessus d'un petit centre de yoga, à environ 5 km plus haut dans les montagnes. Nous avons atteint une altitude de plus de 2 000 mètres, ce qui a été un vrai défi pour moi en raison d'un rhume.
La température a considérablement baissé dans les montagnes, mais nous étions bien préparés avec des vêtements chauds, des gants et des chapeaux. Nos hôtes ont été incroyablement gentils et ont allumé un feu chaleureux pour nous à l'extérieur. Notre chambre n'a pas de chauffage, mais ils nous ont fourni une bouillotte pour nous garder au chaud pendant la nuit.
​Demain, nous redescendrons à McLeod Ganj pour explorer ce petit village, qui est désormais la résidence du Dalai Lama.
