Jawai to Jodhpur De Jawai à Jodhpur

After a three-hour drive dodging cows on the highway (by the way, the highways are in better condition than ours in Canada!), we arrived in Jodhpur, the Blue City. One scary tuk-tuk ride later, we finally found our guesthouse for the night.
From our rooftop, we have a stunning view of Mehrangarh Fort, which towers over the city with its impressive walls. Our first priority was to go admire the view from the top of the fort.
We then explored the area and visited Toorji Ka Jhalra, an ancient stepwell built in the 18th century. This impressive structure was designed to store rainwater and is now a peaceful spot where locals come to relax.
We also took a walk around the Clock Tower market, where the lively streets are filled with spices, colourful fabrics, and handcrafted items.
Tomorrow, we’ll leave Rajasthan and travel to the state of Punjab, ready for new adventures!

Après trois heures de route à slalomer entre les vaches sur l’autoroute (d’ailleurs, les routes sont en meilleur état que chez nous au Canada !), nous sommes arrivés à Jodhpur, la ville bleue. Une course en tuk-tuk plus tard – plutôt effrayante, il faut l’avouer – nous avons enfin trouvé notre guesthouse pour la nuit.
Depuis notre toit-terrasse, nous avons une superbe vue sur le fort de Mehrangarh, qui domine la ville du haut de ses impressionnants remparts. Notre première priorité a été d’aller admirer la vue depuis le sommet du fort
Nous avons ensuite exploré les environs et découvert le Toorji Ka Jhalra, un ancien puits à degrés construit au XVIIIe siècle. Cet ouvrage impressionnant, conçu pour stocker l’eau de pluie, est aujourd’hui un lieu paisible où les locaux viennent se détendre.
Nous avons également fait un tour du marché de la Clock Tower, où les ruelles animées regorgent d’épices, de tissus colorés et d’objets artisanaux.
​Demain, nous quitterons le Rajasthan pour rejoindre le Punjab, prêts pour de nouvelles découvertes !
